True, Linux on the desktop has not taken off. However, I have seen in recent months a timid tendency to change in some stores when selling cheap computers with Linux preinstalled. I do not know for sure if it will have any impact or not on the percentage use of Linux but at least is a new factor to consider.

Apple is succeeding simply because it's posh brand. In most cases (most recently) the user only reads the mail and chat on the messenger, and do not like the messenger for mac. This was one that taught the computer one day with the efectillos, told them that Mac is the re-milk and has no viruses or blue screen, and they fell like suckers. This is what people are saying I know who goes to Mac lately, the worst is that they created an air of superiority because they believe that Mac is a silver bullet, and deny having any problems because they recognize that they have fucking ripped .

You can tell I do not like Mac Beyond that, I say that there are people who know what they buy, but the trend today is this, the pijerio.

Aigo disagree. I will not deny that many Mac_queros boast of their "social status Apple", but Apple brand has always follow "cock", if sales have increased now, the explanations will have to go looking elsewhere.

I think the current success can be traced to lower prices to move to Intel, the pull factor of the iPod / iPhone, and Microsoft's poor form lately.

Needless to say, this year the haiku scene is growing and will soon have a free operating system with enough force to enter and compete on the desktop .. with a real desktop OS.

Well, is that when you go to get off a Linux iso, burn and install it. If you do not like it then go back to Windows and voila, no trauma. When you buy a Mac you spend a paste on a PC + OS X, go back to Windows is recognizing that you are a cousin, and you've been scammed, you've just spent the € on a Mac PC and not in another because it came with the Mac OS X.

True, it may be more user-friendly that a Linux distribution, but in the end the people I know who has gone to Mac complains about the typical things you would complain if they had happened to Linux: lack of drivers, Windows programs that do not have for Mac, etc.. And that boast? Not having a blue screen and not have viruses ... oh! Indeed, these are usually those who chateaban with administrator account ... but the guilt of having Windows viruses was not them.

The difference is in the first paragraph, if all I have to do to return to Windows is NOTHING (then erase the Linux partition if you want to go) for that ... I say that Linux is shit that does not work and I stay with Windows. Now, if I have to grab the Windows bootcamp and settle, then go with his head down because I bought a Mac to run Windows ... well then no, maybe I like pride.

Sure, prices are not as high, but at the same price you buy one with better features. I will not kill me to give features and prices, but the price of a Mac today may be greater than an equivalent non-Mac hardware-in-one years ago (at least I know a case that was so, between my laptop and a friend).

I can tell you that I have known 7-8 that are Mac users and everyone is happy. I have not seen the pijerío you refer, we use the Mac for work or leisure but we will not hesitate team. Except when there are teams here from all Vaio, HP, Acer ... I guess in other environments may vary.

In my case I was lucky to start with a Mac "pirated" Samsung on my laptop to make sure that the system was not going for me and would miss any applications. Today I have a Mac laptop and I'm very happy.

Why use Linux instead of Mac or Windows? Well we are on the sides, occasionally in an office job and really just repairing Windows a very burning gives both Windows work as little as you want to tinker. When I get home I do not like my system go slow, keep viruses and so on because I do not want at all. Windows is a well kept up to much, but it is also true that you never know when it will fall. Also when you get used to the UNIX Windows MSDOS console seems toy.

Linux is getting better. But I tell you a anectdota. In my old laptop (with which I tried the Mac OS) had Ubuntu 6.06. Switching to Ubuntu 6.10 the system was completely hung on startup. Even the clean install I solved the problem. Researching on the Internet there was a clear solution. I put a ticket on Ubuntu and a year (since the street was in 7.04) answered me. These things can happen but Mac is difficult. Yet in my work I use Ubuntu 8.04 and I am not unhappy, has many applications and works well.

With respect to drivers with Mac so far, I have had problems with my Sony MP3 but put clearly that was not compatible with Linux or Mac I guess there are things incompatible with the Mac but in my case I had no problems so far.

With respect to each other because they are expensive, they are. It is also true that they are very well finished and have many details not found in other laptops but do not know if everyone will compensate you. In my case the backlit keyboard is more detail that I appreciate and believe it should be standard on all laptops (in fact in some high-end comes). The OS seems to me that is ahead of Windows or Linux (specifically ahead of Windows in the Core and Linux applications). I do not really miss any applications. It is true that it has taken me a while to adapt, use toast instead of nero, speed instead of flashget donwload ...

I would advise anyone who wants to move to Mac to try it out if you can and if you ask a friend to have and see if you will not miss anything and he likes the system because I also know people who do not finishes like (specifically my wife and my little brother are not exactly buffs). It is a mistake to use a Mac AutoCAD, for example. Now, if you like the Mac does not need an application like that and pay a little more not a problem I think is a very good choice.

Well, you understand that it is not derogatory of pijerío Rinse it because I can understand someone being offended, but no one will deny that "air cool" to have a Mac Now, the end of the notebooks are designed for it to be pretty.

I understand what the console, but I was speaking mainly of those users Windows-like, that however much you use Mac will never touch a console. You're not the type of user that I describe, I said that no doubt there were people who know what they are buying when they buy a Mac, but what I see lately is a lot of people switching to Mac so you have, and do not really know what they are buying until it begins to use it. Then ask how you can use Microsoft messenger, than there are for Mac not like.

I am no friend of Ubuntu, I think I said up there that if it were not for you to use Linux Debian doubt, do not know what you would use, but of course the typical Linux distros all not known. I was very tired of Linux after many years and truly, Debian opened my eyes, the problem is not Linux, the problem is made distros run in 6 months that include devel versions in stable releases for I-la -latest-version estean satisfied, or to have people testee things then shall go into business-oriented distributions when they are stable. Well, in my case at least, as long as Debian do not see a practical advantage to have OS X, which I miss in Debian only has Windows.

Then we agree, the Mac "cool". It is true that they have a lot of pijadas as sensor or motion detector light that are actually very cool, very few people that I know of uses (the backlit keyboard itself is amazing). Not that it bothered me a comment, simply do not understand what it meant.
