The new version of Ubuntu to come, namely the 10.10 Maverick Meerkat will not run on processors that do not reach a minimum of architecture i686. In this way, opened the debate both in the community of developers and the community of users about whether this determination sharp risked not be equivalent to an act of discrimination.

Where is Snow Leopard?

In osnews.com echo some reflections about the future operating sitema Snow Leopard has been notably absent from the conference at Macworld Apple's last day yesterday. Apple has decided not to show any future development of Mac OS X and has received some criticism from analysts for this reason.

Apple has said previously that this release is focusing on improving the system performance significantly, especially to leverage the capabilities of new generation multi-core processors. Proof of this is the time especficación record OpenCL technology for it to be included in snowleopard.

No doubt the coming battle between Microsoft with its Windows 7 and Mac OS X Apple looks promising. If Linux can also permanently opened a hole in the desktop we have an interesting year in terms of desktop operating systems.
