According to Cnet Microsoft is working to improve compatibility with older programs that do not currently run on Windows Vista. The list of programs "rescued" non-English-speaking and emphasizes the inclusion, among others, of IKEA Home Planner in the Spanish version.

If they improve this point will be something for Windows 7 as it is one of the issues that has been most criticized in Vista.

If you're legal, use Open Office

"This copy Linex Legal" is a slogan I use in his day the Junta de Extremadura to promote circulation and that could well be estrapolar to Open Office today. Gloger is gerund, I found this article on UbuntuArte . Take a look that is priceless

"A promotional message from OpenOffice, cites that 35% of software in the world are pirated or illegal, we asked whether our software is legal and clearly described Microsoft's strategy.

"After years of unofficially tolerating piracy as a means of securing control of the market, Microsoft is now conducting an offensive to ensure that copies of their software is legitimate:

* Just buy AssetMetrix, a software company specializing in detecting what programs we have installed in our PCs
* You are using the internet to install detection software copies of MS-Office on users' PCs.
* Throughout the world, the Business Software Alliance is organizing efforts to prosecute those who violate their conditions - for example in the UK offers great financial rewards to any informer who reports to companies that use pirated software.
* Microsoft itself admits that clients have difficulty understanding the complexities of software licensing - it's easy to accidentally break their conditions. "
Note that OpenOffice is a perfectly viable alternative, and further copies are legal and will not cost you money. "

Surely many of us tonteabamos with Linux back in 2000, and it seems like yesterday, I do not know because we have lived many more years in the twentieth century than in the XXI or because we imagine that by 2009 cars would fly or Public transportation stops on the moon. Whatever is at 2000 and we fell a long way and although it seems that as usual, you might look at an article like the one I leave with memories bring us apart, makes us see how things change.

No doubt a little story for nostalgia. http://www.tuxradar.com/content/archives-best-distros-2000

In an interview with Distrowatch recently found the father and creator of Linux and GNU / Linux for the purists where among other things talks about his change of KDE to Gnome (apparently not by choice) and tell us what distribution uses . Linus also makes clear that from their point of view there are so many distributions is not bad, but quite the opposite, which is necessary.

We would be surprised if Mr. Shuttleworth of Canonical Ltd executive director told us that has tested the Microsoft operating system-Windows 7 - and it seemed a good system, logically you would not believe it not been for qu ubuntu-vs-view and Shuttleworth is waiting for Microsoft to finally install windows 7 and stop giving away XP (It is assumed that the license will be charged to manufacturers) giving the event has installed Ubuntu computers are more expensive than those with XP, it is clear Ubuntu community that expects output to cope with Ubuntu 9.

Steve Ballmer says Vista has no place in Netbooks

It seems that Steve Ballmer (Microsoft CEO) has granted an interview with CNET, where we find some curious responses such as in the saying that Windows Vista has no place in the market for netbooks, but they are doing their best to Windows 7 itself does. To know today if Windows 7 is very different to Vista though the recently released beta does not feel that the new system has changed significantly and therefore unlikely to have relevance in the world of netbooks.
