Meeting interesting entry we can see on the Phoronix website regarding the performance of what will be the replacement for ext3, as btrfs does not leave the ext4 compared to other heavyweights such as XFS, Ext3 and ReiserFS. As always have used the phoronix-test-suite this time in version 1.6 alpha2.

Happy reading.

  2. I would say ... she should have something to compare. I wish I knew how it behaves according ext4 files are great for small. Well, everyone knows that so far was the best xfs with large files, small reiserfs, jfs the least annoying to the CPU and ext3 was good at everything and none perfect.
The interesting thing for me is to know where ext4, to place it in the appropriate partition.

  4. The data presented, assuming them true, only relate to speed. However, other aspects are also important.

How to recover a system crash?
What is the average amount of data lost due to a failure and asynchronous write?
How to behave when it exceeds 85% of capacity?

  6. I can not agree more with both and also the hue of jkarretero seems very appropriate.

What do you think of Benchmark across filesystems ext4, ext3, reiser and xfs. ? ...
