If in a previous article we talked about ubuntu eee , a distribution based on Ubuntu 8.0.4 LTS for mini-laptops from Asus (Eee pcc) and NBR desktop - Netbook Remix on this will do the same but with Eeebuntu based on Ubuntu 8.10-Intrepid Ibex, surely will wonder what is the difference from one another, because Ubuntu eee is separate LTS (It has support for three years) and only with NBR desktop, in Eeebuntu we can download three different desktops, Standard, NBR, and Base.
The Standard is a desktop based on Ubuntu 8.10 with all applications.
The NBR is a desk with a modified interface for small screens - is the ideal, as I tried it -.
The base is low and no external applications.

We can no longer complain about the owners of an Eee PC , we have long-term support or without it.

And we can download for Eeebuntu .

  4. Skarcha Hello, a pleasure to have around here. Certainly in January distributions are almost identical, except for the choice of three different desks.

I have no luck to have this little machine, but if so I guess DarkM can try both and comment if you notice any difference more significant.

    A greeting

  6. Well, I think you are right the two, I have not tested based on 8.10 (Eeebuntu) for lack of time, but if Ubuntu eee and it works pretty well, I only had to increase the size of the sources, will wait for the official course.
That if I tried the Debian eee, and it looks good, the sources have the right size but will have to change the desktop and adapt to a smaller screen, like NBR.
Other than that those without much experience will flip to install the wifi.
    A greeting.

  8. Hello! :-)

If you read my blog know that I have one, and I've tried (and use) is the Ubuntu Eee.

If the only difference are the three different desktops, I would not change ... :) Mostly because the NBR is the eye without having tried other, more logical to see a machine with the characteristics of this.

It is a pileup that is what is to come out and take it when you need it, but not to spend all day working with him, so the NBR seems a perfect idea and quite comfortable.

DarkM: If the Eeebuntu tests to see if you have if you think faster or notice something different about the Ubuntu eee.

    A greeting! :)

  10. Hello SkaRCHa, because I have not had the pleasure of reading your blog, but now I add to bookmarks to read you, in mind I have time.
As for the Eeebuntu desktop as I said, I have not tested but seems much Devian desktop eee totally not worth it or get off the base, or the Standard.
NBR is the most optimum, taking into account that the displays are very small.
If I had to choose would pick up the eee with Debian desktop hardware and r ecognition Ubuntu.
    Until now.
