There is a phenomenon which, so to speak, is at the heart of late modernity and seems to have been radicalized to the extreme by Web 2.0: the intensity increased time.

No doubt that the technical-industrial development has helped our times are faster, that things must be done quickly, and that delays are convicted. The rationalization of time is the maximization of temporal economy of our private lives and public life of our society.

Web 2.0 has done nothing to bring to its ultimate consequences of this phenomenon, allowing in this technological revolution unprecedented sensitivity to the problem of waiting. The computers in recent years and appear to us as prehistoric phase in which dinosaurs lived in eternal struggle.

The Instant Elevator Music (EMI) for Windows, is a product of the specificity of our digital age. The music runs IEM those times when you still have to wait before our operator (something really strange about the fantastic world of modern computers). For example, when you download documents, programs, etc.. Internet Explorer, when you delete large numbers of files, while putting together an application, etc..

The creators of this application have noticed this widespread dissatisfaction with the act of waiting and have designed an entertainment concept that allows us to keep my mind busy with functional music ... not simply the expected force us to think ...
