Apparently the iso image of PC-BSD snapshots has more errors than I burn the DVD iso I make this mistake and ruining discs, any suggestions?
Try PCBSD8-STABLE-20100524-x86-usb.img or
PCBSD8-STABLE-20100524-x64-usb.img
Errors are checked with md5 files, not worth it if they continue not keep burning DVDs RW.
With these. Img burn test pendrive (the modern way of booting BSD live).
ok, thanks I'll try, now I have in my PC-BSD machine the normal version that is in their website for download, but for days I froze the screen to install the libdvdcss library to view DVD movies on the PC with the VLC but after restart and gives no problem. the detail now that the movies are slow maybe it's something that my machine is say something old lady ... hehehe ...
Hello again, I could burn the iso you have mounted recently to intel, but now in the installation I want to make a mistake fomatear on ZFS, and I revota the installation, I tried to install with the option to use the entire disk, and it worked but is formatted ufs ... unfortunately I wanted to try the benefits of zfs format ... ![]()
ZFS brings virtues we doubt not, which demands much more RAM either. While Microsoft will insist on its WinFS file system is flash SSDs are a breeding ground for the still experimental Btrfs. For the 15 July would be the final version of PCBSD 8.1 (30 days +).
AAa ok, I've heard of btffs, but the truth is not much, if not better than zfs format. I checado online format of the zfs and I read that is a format that is far better, I know it works, according to a test made by hitting a hard drive (had that format) connected it with a hammer and was still working ... but know if it's true. well as pc-bsd prove 8.1 with ufs and get it right after the stable version will set it up hope it does not trouble me ...
the problem I had was to try to format the drive with zfs sought ad0 and marked error, and then tried to install on a partition ad0b2 and told me that this was not the assembly to install the base system, and that's when pulled no more ...
