Berkeley's core is compiled in the latest version of Mac OS X (update of applications, significant improvements in performance, similar interface or lack of ideas is controversial for more later). But what is now announced for September 21 is the next release of FreeBSD 8.0 (also compiled for ARM) and is excited that so many open source applications have been ported to the heart of Berkeley;

freebsd-80

behind the PC-BSD will contain it increasingly like most in aesthetics and functionality, software packages, open, free and available to carry any PC clone (this last feature that would make use of virtuoso Darwin / OS X, polemics aside).
