openSUSE

At this stage of the game we all know what it's openSUSE. As well the name says, the open is a program with a basic concept that makes it very interesting. Working on the democratizing potential of the Internet as device production and dissemination of information, this application seeks to create social ties, trusting in the collective production of meaning. The program offers easy accessibility, all for free.

Well, the news is that you can download a new version of GNU / Linux. Nine months after the last release, version 11.3 comes from the distribution covered by Novell and AMD, and a large community of users.

Overall, the openSUSE 11.3 features updated versions for more than 1000 applications over its predecessor. These new versions include desktop applications, server applications (WWW, mail, FTP, ...) and a selection of development tools.

openSUSE 11.3 has significantly improved its performance on netbooks, for it has expanded hardware support. We have included two desktop environments specially designed lightweight netbooks: Netbook Plasma Workspace on openSUSE KDE and Meegan, an adaptation of the computer by Meego openSUSE Goblin.

Both Plasma as Meego include a simple and lightweight interface that allows quick and intuitive operation throughout the system. Both environments provide the user with navigation applications, the use of email and blogging services integration and social networks.
