You get to run Linux on the iPhone

Probably this is a wonderful fact to the Linux community that has an iPhone. The project development team iPhone Linux has managed to port the Linux 2.6 kernel to the original iPhone, iPhone 3G and the iPod Touch.

The operating system is quite limited for now, since most iPhone features not being available. However there are some things that does support such as the framebuffer and connecting the iPhone to a PC through the serial port or USB.
