Windows 3.1

Although it may seem incredible, Microsoft continued to sell licenses for Windows 3.x,
both version 3.1 and the 3.11 for workgroups. Version 3.0 was released in 1990 and until now has kept it in his catalog Redmond maker, although he stopped supporting
end of 2001.

Since 1 November, has also stopped selling new licenses for the system. Virtually abandoned, Windows 3.x was used in some cash registers and in some entertainment systems from various airlines, like Virgin or Qantas.

The truth is that it was time to change the graphical environment, which is less than one operating system. It was not until Windows 95 when he became an operating system "real", as until then only offered a graphical interface running on MS-DOS.

For many, Windows 3.1 was the first approach to computers without "complicated" life on the command line and can work in a multitasking environment, graphics and multi-applications available. For others it was the system that for the first time we connect to the Internet, so I remember with some affection.

Now we can already say: Farewell, Windows 3.1!
