ReactOs ha sorprendido con un timonazo hacia el Wine.

ReactOS has come up with a timonazo to the Wine.

ReactOS is a free software project that has been developing for almost twelve long years. The project's objective was to create an OS and drivers compatible with Windows NT applications-in fact, OS interface looks a lot like old ladies as versions of the Microsoft system.

But in the last year there has been some progress in the development, among which included an alpha version 0.3.11 OS-who did not suspect the news that arrived recently: the project was relaunched and rewrite the code based in Wine. The relationship between Wine and ReactOS is not new, but what is surprising is the fact that timonazo. It happens that the list of ReactOS, the developer Aleksey Bragin explains the reasons which led him to make the decision that has been reported: in the almost twelve years of the project could not even develop a beta version.

The reasons may be adduced in the lack of developers to further optimize the Win32 system, a lack that makes you wonder if the programmer does not Nesite another 10 years to reach the level of Windows 2000. It seems that without the necessary support, the hope of having an OS that is compatible with Windows and is of open source, well that sounds above, vanishes in the good intentions and disappears by the lack of people and resources doomed the project.

  2. I will not say "saw it coming", but he knew (as many suppose) that what was taking place had lost a lot of sense. He could hardly have the utility level of Windows 2000, Windows again and it seems to have good acceptance by 7.
Do not know if this new change will be the solution, but what I have clear is that what was reactos until now was not the solution.

  4. Look, I'm user and developer of GNU with Linux. And I have been interested in joining the project ReactOS if he had not begun to make much propaganda for NT technology and against Unix and its derivatives.
I think more than one that happened.
The way the ReactOS website aims to capture the attention of their users and / or developers is propaganda and nothing as a technician.
And it really bothered me. It would have been better if instead of saying that X's way of working is very poorly designed or if instead of saying to consider everything as a file as UNIX dictates and that is old in 1970 and for that reason is bad. Instead of saying that if he had made to explain how NT is as good or saying that although this decision was taken in 1970 Unix is still in force although their updates (because the reality is that). And without going very far we still using electricity and to my knowledge was discovered more than 400 years.
If I had a little more respect for the work and studies of people who developed such as Unix, Linux, X Window, and their derivatives. Maybe that would have interested me to participate in the project.

  8. But the illusion is an error that is salvageable why chained to technology NT Windows XP? For example analog and bind us are 40 years of innovations in the days of King Unix. Mr. Tanembaum was right but tangible reality and truth is not getting it.
