Ubuntu will support Android applications

Canonical has been confirmed in Ubuntu Developer Summit event that they are working to run directly on Ubuntu Android applications . In the event have already presented a prototype with a basic operation.

  2. While not many Android apps that serves all platforms that can run Ubuntu but are designed to the same mobility that has a cell phone. Support is always welcome.

  4. I suppose that will only be compatible applications that run on the Dalvik virtual machine, because the native applications for ARM will be complicated to execute on any Ubuntu.

  8. I do not know if Google will provide the store for ARM and x86 executables. The fact is that many of the applications for Android are not binary, but bytecode to Dalvik virtual machine files (Dex), similar to Java but not quite. Requires less memory, and each application is launched with its own independent virtual machine instance. In wikipedia is well explained.

    In order not to trouble the user with the type of executable you should get, I think the people of Canonical will focus on Dex files to run, thus avoiding problems of architectures.
