For all fans of Slackware, we have very good news Slackware 12.2 has been released, Patrick Volkerding of Slackware leading developer, officially announces the final departure of it, in its main news we have the kernel 2.6.27.7.

As desktops can enjoy KDE 3.5.10, Xfce 4.4.3, and as of course Firefox browser 3.0.4.

But not only these are the only news from now on you will have support for hardware abstraction layer, also called HAL , What does it mean? Well that has now can be read on any external devices you want connect to the first (hot) without having to manually mount from external DVD, USB, MP3, MP4, and all the paraphernalia of apparatus for which they are used to.
