Reduced version of Windows 7 for netbooks?

We learned from Slashdot that Microsoft intends to create a cropped version of Windows 7 for the "less powerful netbooks" that would only have 3 applications open simultaneously. We do not know if it's a version with some different requirements, resource consumption than the other versions provide, or if there will be much price difference with the version without limitation. According to a study by the company, the "normal" users of their systems has opened an average of 2 applications at once, so the limit of three is reasonable for them.

  2. Anyway ... particularly I have to admit that the news makes me very funny. If this be true, imagine the poor suckers who buy your netbook and can only have 3 applications open simultaneously. Gili's face ***** that is going to be more than one ...

  4. Yes, it's called Windows Starter Edition, and is nothing new for this edition exists in XP (reserved for emerging markets).
The truth is that I am surprised that with Windows7 rescue this formula, I hardly think that was successful.

  6. It is not success, is just a cropped version you get to say you get an operating system. I've fought with several of them here in Argentina.
Apart from the limitation of windows, the starter does not work with XP more than 256mb of ram, or more than 80Gb disk, no user accounts or network support lan, has the resolution set at 800 × 600 and (at least here ) is half translated ... and the control panel is less than 10 items.
    And no version for Vista
